Rippers – Fire Tractaät lp

Very few bands could endure a seventeen-year career achieving that each album and each live show leaves a better taste in your mouth than the previous one. This is a privilege reserved for groups that have built a sound and created a context. Rippers are one of those. After five albums and several 7 (including a split with Turbonegro), the Teichenné brothers' band released Fire Tractaät, their first album for BCore, in which they collected the quintessence of their dark and furious punkrock.

Three winters have passed since they dazzled us with Seeds of the new dawn, an album in which they produced themselves again after two long recordings by Santi García, and with which they managed to raise the power that characterizes them one level above, nuanced with a unusual elegance. With Fire Tractaät they take another small step towards that secret place that only they know. Not even the recent change of drummer (Marc Morell has replaced Francesc Marchan) has removed Rippers from the noisy and pain-filled path they have been on for almost two decades.

In Fire Tractaät the guitars flow from calm to anger while Marc's voice throws himself into the abyss without fear of being stared back at him. A sixth LP in which Rippers free themselves from any external element, lock themselves in their studio in l\’Arboç and descend to the seed of their own music, avoiding madness by just a few centimeters. This is how they manage to collect all their primitive strength in ten songs, a raw sound, of a primordial beauty that screams, a true descent into hell in which even the guitar strings confess.

The album's artwork is taken from the work of William Blake, the British poet and painter of the early nineteenth century who, with his visions of hell, descended to places very close to those frequented by Rippers in Fire Tractaät.
